Project:

Large-scale data analysis, mathematical modeling and visualization technologies for predicting the evolutionary evolution of the SARS-CoV-2 genome

Intro

Only the brightest and the darkest episodes of history divide the world into „before“ and „after“. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has become one of those dark episodes. Despite the fact that it is still unknown what „after“ world is waiting for us ahead, the coronavirus has shown how suddenly a global health challenge can appear, and how research helps to provide the answers that are so important in the face of the crisis.

Currently, we are developing a unique SARS-CoV-2 genome evolution prediction methodology based on large-scale data, mathematical modeling and artificial intelligence technologies, which would be able to predict genome changes using data collected in databases.

Why is this needed?

Due to persistent changes in the SARS-CoV-2 genome, diagnostic tools may show inaccurate results and vaccines may lose their effectiveness. The innovative methodology being developed will allow us to predict the further course of the pandemic and provide a lot of useful information for the development of effective vaccines. Also, it will greatly accelerate the work of government and business organizations in the analysis and retrieval of rich and complex information.

Later, this still non-existent methodology could be used for the analysis and prediction of other viruses.

Who will use the technology?

Manufacturers of vaccines and diagnostics, as well as research and public health authorities.
